NINA JEANNE LANDAU
writer • director • producer

Nina Landau (b. 1986) holds a Master's degree in Criminology (2008) and a Bachelor's degree in
International Politics (2010) from the Free University of Brussels (VUB). She started her career in the media and film industry in 2012 as a journalist at the Flemish Radio and Television Broadcasting Association.
Between 2013 and 2017, she worked for production companies Motionmakers and Sputnik Media and produced audiovisual content for the public sector and NGOs. However, she missed the social involvement of her previous journalistic work and after a Postgraduate in International Research Journalism at Thomas More University in 2017 she decided to focus on documentary film production. She started working as a creative producer
producer at Associate Directors, an Antwerp-based production company specializing in auteur-
driven documentary films for the Belgian and international markets.

In 2019 she co-founded Studio Wildwood, a boutique audio post production studio in Antwerp, focused on a personal approach and delivering quality to film and tv productions. In 2023 Nina founded Midnight Blue, a research and story development company for documentary films and series. Through in-depth research and character development she collaborates closely with filmmakers and producers to uncover and craft compelling narratives and help them bring to life on screen.
Nina has also directed three short documentaries:

Lon (2017 - 7')
In the 1930s, Lon Landau made his dreams come true in the vibrant, cosmopolitan city of Antwerp. He became the first stage designer for the city’s most prestigious theater company, the Koninklijke Nederlandse Schouwburg. When the Nazis invaded the country, Landau was arrested and imprisoned in a transit camp in Mechelen, where he started to build marionettes with whatever he could find within the confines of the barracks.
My Family is a Circus (2020 - 15')
Romy has to say goodbye to her classmates because she's going to France. Not on holiday, but for work: her family's touring circus will spend the entire summer performing in an amusement park. In a letter to her classmates, Romy shares the ups and downs of her life as a circus artist.

The Wonder Within (2025 - 16')
The Wonder Within is a musical science documentary that takes us on a journey into the vagina. With the help of thousands of women, the Lebeer-microbiology lab at the University of Antwerp uncovered the hidden ecosystem in women's private parts. The social relevance of this pioneering work cannot be underestimated.
